
COCOO is a Kyoto-based lifestyle brand that brings traditional urushi (Japanese lacquer) into modern daily life, guided by a “Less is More” philosophy.
We’re looking for a warm, hands-on team member to support us with English communication, guest interaction, and leading urushi workshops for international guests.
Position:
Workshop Instructor (Part-time / Freelance)
Main Tasks May Include:
・Leading urushi workshops as an instructor (guiding both Japanese and international guests)
・Supporting events and store operations (including communication with international visitors)
・Providing English-language support across internal and external communication
Who We’re Looking For:
・Someone who is open-minded, adaptable, and can follow directions with care
・Enjoys trying new things and working with their hands
・Resonates with COCOO’s aesthetic and values
・Comfortable engaging with both Japanese and international guests
・Flexible and excited to work in a creative, evolving environment
Helpful Skills & Experience (not required):
・Teaching or workshop facilitation experience
・Customer service or retail experience (especially with international guests)
・Experience working in art, craft, or cultural activities
・Public speaking or guiding small groups
・Basic Japanese communication skills
Working Conditions:
・Type: Part-time / Freelance
・Pay: Negotiable (based on skills and responsibilities)
・Working Hours: From 1 day/week, minimum 3 hours/day (flexible)
